Among the wide variety of high level alternatives offered
by the cultural agenda in Buenos Aires, the Grand Lyrical
Gala held in “Auditorio de Belgrano” on Saturday
June 16, at 9.00 p.m is to highlight. The show stood out
with the participation of the exceptional City of Buenos
Aires Symphony Orchestra, and four of the most salient voices
in Argentina: Haydeé Dabusti (Soprano), Alicia Cecotti
(Mezzo-soprano), Antonio Grieco (Tenor), and Leonardo Lopez
Linares (Baritone). The artistic and musical direction was
in charge of the gifted Maestro Enrique Roel.
It was a brilliant show. The audience roared with pleasure
with the presentation of each artist. The remarkable acoustic
of the venue enabled the whole audience to enjoy a selection
of the most beautiful arias of the lyrical repertoire. The
program started with the full orchestra performing “The
Barber of Sevilla” by Rossini, which glittered with
the direction of Maestro Enrique Roel, whose unmatched expertise
was once again reflected in this and each of the following
interpretations.
The impeccable performance of soprano Haydeé Dabusti
stood out due to the masterly interpretation, not only with
her voice, but also with her entire heart and soul, of Casta
Diva (Norma), and Vissi d'arte (Tosca), among others. On
her part, Alicia Cecotti achieved her highest expressivity
level in Habanera (Carmen), with a truly memorable accompaniment
of her colleagues.
Baritone Leonardo López Linares contributed with
his melodious voice, his masterly interpretation technique,
and his ability to embrace different dramatic shades, which
made his performance unique. Finally, owner of a prodigious
voice, Tenor Antonio Grieco poured all his passion on the
repertoire, gaining the audience’s sympathy with his
particular charm.
The closing included a voice ensemble. López Linares’
low voice matched with Antonio Grieco’s high voice
joined with Haydeé Dabusti and Alicia Cecotti’s
voices in a memorable quartet, accompanied by the University
of Buenos Aires Law School Choir. This interpretation highlighted
an already brilliant closing with Nabucco "Va Pensiero,"
which was crowned with a vigorous clapping that lasted for
several minutes and led the artists to perform the strongly
requested “one more…”
One of the most beautiful arias, Traviata Brindis, was the
perfect end to a marvelous night. The audience cheerfully
applauded the artists, who left the stage with the certainty
of having offered their audience a luxury show, which has
become a distinguishing feature of this blessed city of
Buenos Aires.
