Comment: Dear Enrique, It was really
a great pleasure to be part of the concert you offered at
the School of Law. Personally, I think that music was created
to be played and perceived at the same time and, in this
regard, no recording will ever truly surpass the greatness
of that sensation.
As regular attendant to the concerts of the Philharmonic
Orchestra, I had the pleasure to hear many memorable concerts
with conductors and soloists of the highest international
level (specially during the 90s). Therefore, I feel honored
to tell you that the performance of this orchestra, which
despite completely new to me sounded brilliantly to my ears,
actually touched me deeply. Though heard countless times,
Dvorak’s Symphony allowed me a wide appreciation of
the different parts of the orchestra, which blended together
in a single community, though clearly keeping individual
identity. During the second movement, I felt like hearing
choral voices, which led to me imagine the sounds of a real
choir. I assume it was the creative allocation of the instruments
that created those incredible effects. The remaining repertoire
allowed me to confirm the virtuosity of both the orchestra
and its conductor. Although I am not well acquainted with
classical repertoire for saxophone, it was a real privilege
to know this one. I am deeply thankful for your presentation
and hope to revive it again. Best regards.
